Each residence will be provided one special pick up of large or bulky items each calendar year at no charge. Please fill out our online form or call 309.524.2400.  Items will be picked up within five working days and could be as early as the next business day, 

Additional special pick ups will be provided upon pre-payment of $40 to Finance Office, 1630 8th Avenue.  Payments can be made over the phone with a debit/credit card by calling 309.524.2070.

Guidelines

• Items will need to be placed in a neatly stacked pile where your garbage is picked up.
• Small items such as clothes, dishes, and toys must be containerized in a bag, box, or container.
• Broken glass or needles must be disposed of in a sealed container such as coffee cans or milk jugs and sealed with duct tape.
• Carpet may be set out, but cut into 3-foot wide sections, rolled up and secured into bundles.
• Railroad ties should be cut into 2-foot lengths.
• Special pick ups may not be used for televisions, computer equipment, appliances, used tires or hazardous waste.  If you have any of these items, we can assist you in disposing of them at no cost.  Please call 309.524.2400 for more information.
